Meghan MacLaren has been named to the 2016 Conference USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team the league announced on Thursday.
MacLaren highlights the five-woman squad as a three-time winner of the award.
MacLaren earns her third all-academic nod as she wraps up a stellar career for the Panthers. The 2015 C-USA Golfer of the Year, MacLaren is a two-time All-Conference USA honoree and a seven-time C-USA Golfer of the Week. MacLaren is the defending C-USA Championship individual medalist after winning the 2015 C-USA Women's Golf Championship with a record-breaking performance, setting both the 18-hole (65, -7) and 54-hole (206, -10) C-USA Championship records. During the 2015-16 campaign, the Cambridge, United Kingdom, native has notched five top-10 finishes and three top-five placements, carding a 73.04 season stroke average through 26 rounds played. MacLaren is a six-time member of the FIU Dean's List, a four-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and a C-USA Academic Medal recipient. She is on pace to graduate this year with a 3.76 GPA in English with a minor in political science.
MacLaren and over 50 other individuals are scheduled to represent their teams at the 2016 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship April 18-20 at Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Florida. For the second-straight year, the three-day, 54-hole championship will be held on the Bob Cupp-designed Old Orange, a par 72, 6,194-yard Verandah course.
