MIAMI (Aug. 31, 2016) -- After a six-day layoff spent training, the FIU women's soccer program returns to action with a 7 p.m. date with FGCU in Fort Myers Thursday night at the FGCU Soccer Complex.

Both teams are coming off losses in their last outing. The Panthers (0-2-1) dropped their home opener 4-0 to Wake Forest on a stormy Thursday night on August 25. The Eagles (1-2) lost in double overtime 1-0 to No. 21 Ohio State Sunday night at home.

FIU has just one win (1-7-1) in the all-time series against FGCU, and it was in Fort Myers, on August 26, 2010. The Panthers have been held scoreless in the previous two 2-0 meetings in across the past two seasons.

Alyssa Robinson's (Pembroke Pines, Florida / American Heritage) pair of goals remains atop the team scoring table. She is followed in team scoring by freshman
Michaela Rouse (Allen, Texas), who has other goal scored by the Panthers this season.

Senior
Sophia Trujillo (Miami, Florida / Gulliver Prep) has been in goal for the entirety of all three contests to this point of the season. She has posted 18 saves.

The Eagles are led by Ali Rogers, who also has two goals. Two different Eagles have one assist each. Melissa Weck has been in goal all three games for FGCU, posting eight saves and a 0.94 goals-against average.
