MIAMI (October 4, 2017) -- FIU women's soccer will host its first Thursday Conference USA game of the season, with LA Tech visiting the FIU Soccer Stadium for a 7 p.m. kick. FIU will support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in this first game of the month of October.

The Panthers are 1-7 overall, and off to an 0-3 start in Conference USA play. The Panthers scored their third goal of the year early in Sunday's 2-1 overtime loss to Middle Tennessee at home. Â

FIU scored a goal in both of its previous contests, their first back-to-back games with a goal this season. Senior keeper
Nevena Stojakovic (Nis, Serbia) has allowed 15 goals this season, with a 1.86 goals-against average. She has 41 saves so far this season and FIU is fourth in the league in saves per game (5.25).

LA Tech enters the contest at 8-2-4 overall, with a 1-1-2 league record. LA Tech has tied its last two games, both in C-USA. LA Tech has been held without a goal just twice this season, and is one goal shy of the league lead of 27.

LA Tech and FIU have split the two-game, all-time series, with the Lady Techsters taking last season's 2-0 game in Ruston.

The Lady Techsters have half of their goal-scoring in two players, Mylene Roy-Ouellet (8 goals) and Jenna Dages (6). Their 13 goals allowed are fourth-lowest in the league. Courtney Tompkins has the most minutes played of the three keepers on the roster, and she has a goals-against average of 0.88 in eight games played this season.
