The Basics
- The FIU women's soccer team hit the road for the first of four-straight matches, facing Old Dominion on Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia. The Panthers were looking to get the road stretch off on the right foot, however the Monarchs had other ideas, handing FIU a 2-0 loss. The Panthers drop to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in Conference USA, while ODU improves to 7-3-2 and 4-1 in C-USA.

- The Monarchs came out looking to make a statement early, outshooting the Panthers 10-2 in the first 20 minutes of play. Old Dominion eventually broke through in the 27th minute when Emily Roberts took a pass from Jackie Stroud and beat FIU goalkeeper Nevena Stojakovic (Nis, Serbia) to make the score 1-0. That would be the only scoring in the first half.

- The Monarchs dominated play in the first 45 minutes of action, outshooting FIU, 17-5. Stojakovic kept FIU in the match with her seven saves, including one on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute of play.

- Just over 17 minutes into the second stanza, Old Dominion connected on its second goal of the game when Natalie Johnson served up a pass to Iris Achterhof, who placed the ball in the lower right corner of the goal to put the Monarchs up 2-0. That would be all ODU would need the rest of the way.

- Old Dominion dominated play for the entire 45 minutes of action, outshooting the Panthers 31-9.

- Courtney Phillips (Arlington, Texas) led the way for FIU with four shots, including three on goal.

- Stojakovic finished the game with a season-high 13 saves. She fell one save shy of equaling her season-high in the first half with seven stops.
