MIAMI (November 9, 2016) – The FIU men's basketball team returns to its home floor on Sunday night, Nov. 12, when Stetson visits the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start and can be seen on CUSA.tv with A.J. Ricketts calling all the action.
FIU is coming off a convincing 70-47 win over Florida Memorial in its home-opener on Friday night. Two newcomers made good impressions in their first game in the Blue and Gold against Florida Memorial, as
Trejon Jacob (Raleigh, North Carolina) and
Josh Stamps (Chicago, Illinois) led the Panthers with 18 and 15 points, respectively.
Eric Lockett (Warner Robbins, Georgia) chipped in with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds in the win.
Brian Beard Jr. (Rancho Cucamonga, California) scored five points and dished out a game-high seven assists.

SCOUTING THE HATTERS
Stetson comes into tonight' s game with a 1-0 record after its 98-89 win over Webber International on Friday night in DeLand ... Four players found double digits in the scoring column for the Hatters on Friday, led by Abayomi Iyiola's 21 points and 13 rebounds and Luke Doyle's 15 points ... Raine McKeython chipped in with 13 points while Kenny Aninye chipped in with 12 points.
Tonight's game is the only road game that Stetson will play in its first five games of the year ... Following its meeting with the Panthers, the Hatters will return to DeLand for three-straight against USF (Nov. 15), SIU Edwardsville (Nov. 18) and Ave Maria (Nov. 20).
THE SERIES VS. STETSON
FIU is 14-8 all-time against Stetson dating back to the 1990-91 season ... Despite an 82-67 loss to the Hatters last season in DeLand, the Panthers have won seven of their last nine games against Stetson, and nine of their last 13 ... Sunday marks the fifth-straight season that FIU and Stetson have met.
Sunday will be the 11th meeting all-time in Miami with the Panthers holding a 6-4 series lead on their home floor ... FIU has won three of the last four games at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
