MIAMI (November 14, 2017) -- FIU women's basketball continues its first five-game homestand of the season Wednesday night, when the Panthers host FGCU. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. FIU has started 0-2, while FGCU is 1-0 with a Sunday win at home to Illinois.

FIU and FGCU have met eight previous times, with the Eagles winning all eight in the series.

FIU dropped its home opener on Monday night, a 77-59 decision to Bethune-Cookman. In that contest, junior
Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) produced her fifth-career 20-point contest, pouring in 23 on the night. She is averaging 22 points in the first two contests for FIU, and is shooting 80 percent (8-for-10) from behind the three-point arc so far.

FGCU dismantled Illinois at home, 85-61 on Sunday. Four Eagles scored in double figures, led by Nasrin Ulel, who led the team with 17 points. The Eagles forced 20 Illini turnovers, leading to a 24-15 margin in point off of turnovers on the night.
