MIAMI (November 18, 2017) -- FIU women's hoops plays the third contest of a five-game homestand Sunday when the Panthers welcome Air Force to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center, with a 2 p.m. tip.
Â
FIU and Air Force have only met once in their program histories, an 83-78 AFA win down in Coral Gables, back in January of 1985. Both teams have started 0-3 this season.
Â
Junior
Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) averages 19.7 points-per-game for the Panthers fifth-most in Conference USA this early in the season. Redshirt junior
Kiandre'a Pound (Gifford, Florida / Sebastian River HS) is ninth in the league with a team-leading 8.0 rebounds.
Â
The Falcons do not sport a double-digit scorer by average, with Kaelin Immel's 9.3 points leading the way. Miami Gardens native and Miami Norland graduate Dee Bennett leads the team in rebounding, with 7.7 per game.
Â
FIU will host the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament next Saturday and Sunday to complete the homestand before the team's first road trip of the season, up to the Washington, D.C. area.
