MIAMI (February 10, 2017) – The FIU men's and women's indoor track and field team turned in three first-place finishes during the first of back-to-back meets at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. The Panthers took part in the GVSU Big Meet-Friday at the Kelly Family Sports Center.
Sophomore
Jada Roberson took the top spot in the 200m with a time of 24.57, setting a new personal best. Sophomore classmate
Clarissa Cutliff followed that up with a first-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.79m for her third first-place finish this season.
Terrisa Russell, also a sophomore, took home third place – her best finish of the season – in the shot put, with a personal best distance of 14.01m.
On the men's side, sophomore
Christian Williams paced the way with a first-place finish in the high jump with a height of 2.0m, equaling his best mark of the indoor season. It was Williams's best finish of the indoor campaign.
The Panthers will get back to work on Saturday, Feb. 11, with the second of its back-to-back meets at Grand Valley State, with the GVSU Big Meet-Saturday. Competition begins at 9 a.m. and runs all day.
