No. 30 FIU Tennis Hits the Road to take on USF on Friday

MIAMI (March 23, 2017) – The No. 30 FIU women's tennis team (15-1) travels to Tampa, Florida, to take on the USF Bulls (8-7) on Friday, March 24.
 
First serve is set for noon.
 
FIU has won 13-straight and is coming off a 7-0 win over Towson on Monday, March 20. The shutout was the ninth of the season for FIU and the team's fifth-straight.

The Bulls come into Friday's match with an 8-7 record and are coming off a 4-0 win over UAB on Saturday, March 18. The last meeting between FIU and USF resulted in a 4-0 win for the Panthers earlier this season (Jan. 28) during the opening round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Gainesville, Florida.  
 
FIU is led by Maryna Veksler, who comes into this weekend's action with a team-best 19-4 mark. The native of Kiev, Ukraine, is 7-1 in the last 10 FIU outings and has won five-straight. Joining Veksler are Andrea Lazaro (17-4), Mina Markovic (15-4) and Ulyana Grib (18-4), who have totaled 15 wins-or-more each. Lazaro is currently ranked No. 41 in the latest Oracle/ITA Women's National Singles Rankings. The native of Barcelona, Spain, has registered an overall career mark of 41-13 and a 28-2 career record in dual matches. Grib has won five-straight, including three wins last week. The first-year Panther is 9-1 in the team's last 10 outings and owns a 10-2 mark at the No. 5 position.
