The Basics
- The FIU women's soccer team hit the road for the first time during the 2017 season as the Panthers took the pitch on Friday against Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, with the Big Green handing FIU a hard-fought 1-0 loss. The setback drops the Panthers to 0-2 on the year, while Dartmouth improves to 1-0 in its season-opener.

- The Panthers hung tough for the entire match, however the Big Green's Lauren Lucas recorded the game-winner in the 79th minute off an assist from Bianca Ribi. Lucas took Ribi's offering from left to center and rolled a shot between the defender's legs.

- FIU goalkeeper Nevena Stojakovic logged four saves on the night including a spectacular diving stop to her left in the first half to keep the match scoreless.

- Emily Baragar recorded three of the Panthers' seven shots on the night. 

Stat of the Game
FIU was outshot 11-7 by the Big Green, and was shotless in the first half. Dartmouth had six shots in the first 45 minutes of action.

Up Next
The Panthers close out their three-day, two-game trip to New England on Sunday, Aug, 27 at 12 p.m. when they travel to Burlington, Vermont to face the University of Vermont.  FIU then returns to the Sunshine State and heads up Interstate 95 to take on North Florida on Sept. 1 and Jacksonville on Sept. 3. FIU returns home on Sept. 7 to face Stetson at 7 p.m.
