Panthers Log Final Road Trip of 2018 Season

FIU heads to the Lone Star State for a pair of games over the weekend

MIAMI (Oct. 18, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team hits the road for the final time this season, as the Panthers face a pair of Texas foes over the weekend.

FIU will face Rice on Friday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. ET, before facing North Texas on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. ET. For the full game notes, click here.
 
RICE/NORTH TEXAS PREVIEW
Rice enters Friday with a 5-7-1 mark on the year and 3-3-1 overall in the C-USA. The Owls have not dropped a contest in their last three games, earning wins over LA Tech (3-0) and Marshall (2-1), before tying with WKU (3-3). North Texas enters the weekend at 10-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 in league play. The Mean Green's only blemish to their perfect record came in a 1-1 tie to WKU.

INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU leads the all-time series against Rice, 2-1-0, while trailing North Texas, 3-12-2. 

BERRY'S BREAKOUT
Freshman Rayquel Berry scored two goals against LA Tech to give the Panthers a 2-2 draw with the Bulldogs. The goals were firsts for Berry in her young Panther career. Berry joins fellow freshman Kaydeen Jack as the only players this season to score at least two goals in a single contest.

PANTHERS TIE IT UP
FIU's 2-2 draw with LA Tech marked the Panthers' first result points since earning a 1-1 tie with Marshall on Oct. 14, 2016.
 
ADAMS' SOPHOMORE SURGE
Sophomore Ashley Adams has scored five goals this season, which is the most by any Panther in a season since Alyssa Robinson knocked in six during her 2016 campaign.

JACK ATTACK
Freshman Kaydeen Jack has scored three goals this season, which ranks second on the team, while posting a pair of assists to boot.
