HOUSTON (Oct. 19, 2018) - The FIU women's soccer team fell to Rice, 5-0 on Friday night to close out the first leg of its Lone Star State road trip.
With the win, Rice improves to 6-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in C-USA action. FIU fell to 0-15-1 and 0-7-1 in league play.
The Owls jumped early after scoring a pair of goals around the 15th minute, before extending their lead to 3-0 before the break. Rice continued its control of the match out of the locker room, as the Owls scored its fourth and fifth goals of the match to seal the win.
Kedie Johnson and
Rayquel Berry each led the Panthers with two shots a piece on the night, while
Christina Velazquez earned five saves.
UP NEXT
The Panthers face off against North Texas on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET, capping the regular season road slate for FIU.
