With the win, FIU improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in C-USA play, while WKU falls to 1-7 and 0-4 on the year. The 4-0 league start for FIU is the best start for the Panthers since joining the C-USA in 2013.

After FIU's sixth win of the season, the Panthers are bowl eligible for the fourth time in program history and the second-straight year under head coach Butch Davis. The Oct. 27 date is also the fastest any Panthers squad has become bowl eligible in school history.

James Morgan led the Panthers once again on Saturday night, as the Green Bay, Wisconsin native felt right at home in the cold conditions to throw for 171 yards on 19-of-28 passing and three scores. Sophomore D'Vonte Price rushed for over 100 yards for the second time this season after earning 119 yards and scoring twice.

Morgan scored twice through the air in the first half, after finding Maurice Alexander and Bryce Singleton for short touchdown tosses to put FIU up 14-0. WKU would finally get on the board on its final drive of the opening half, following a 23-yard field goal to bring the score to 14-3 at the break.

Following a 52-yard strike from Morgan to Austin Maloney, Price cashed in for another Panther score as the sophomore rushed between the tackles for a six-yard touchdown to push the lead to 21-3. Morgan capped another scoring drive with a short touchdown pass before the end of the third quarter, as the quarterback rolled out to find Maloney at the back of the endzone for a four-yard score.

With the lead at 28-3 entering the fourth quarter, WKU mounted an 11-play scoring drive as the Hilltoppers crossed the goal line for the first time on the night. WKU's Steven Duncan scored on a short 1-yard sneak, which marked FIU's first touchdown allowed in the fourth quarter this season, before the Hilltoppers failed on the two-point conversion try to bring the score to 28-9.

After a Jose Borregales 35-yard field goal, the Hilltoppers scored a touchdown and converted a two-point conversion as they narrowed the gap to 31-17. The Panthers would put the final nail in the coffin however, as Price busted a 58-yard touchdown run with 1:35 remaining to close out the game.
