The Basics
- The FIU volleyball team won its fourth three-set match in its last four outings on Sunday with a 25-15, 25-13, 26-24 victory over Bethune-Cookman at Moore Gymnasium in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Panthers improve to 12-6 on the year while the Wildcats are now 8-10. FIU's 12 wins is the third most in the last seven years, behind only the 2015 (15) and 2013 (13) teams.  
 
- Margherita Bianchin (Venice, Italy) had 14 kills and 16 points in the match, while Ronja Klinger (Frauental, Austria) had 10 points, eight kills and two aces in the win. Abbie Hughes (Mason, Ohio) had 37 assists on the day.
 
- After dismissing the Wildcats quickly in the first and seconds sets, Bethune-Cookman made things interesting in the third. The Wildcats led early, 4-2, however the Panthers scored seven of the next 11 points to take a 9-8 lead on a Dorina Klinger  (Feldkirchen, Austria)  kill off an Bianchin assist. FIU held the lead until Bethune put together a 6-0 run late in the set to take a 20-19 lead. The Panthers, however, regained their composure and held on for the win.
 
- FIU recorded a .250 hitting percentage for the match, including .387 and .405 in the first and second sets, respectively. Bethune had a .074 mark in the loss, with a match-best .129 in the first set.

Up Next
The Panthers will head to the Lone Star State for two matches, beginning with UTSA on Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. ET. They will close out the road trip against UTEP on Oct. 14, at UTEP at 2 p.m. ET.
