SAN ANTONIO (February 13, 2018) – FIU women's basketball completes plays its only Wednesday night Conference USA game of the season, at UTSA, with the tip at 8 p.m. EST from the Convocation Center. This is the Roadrunners' Pink Out game.
 
The Panthers and Roadrunners meet for the 10^th time in the series, with UTSA holding a slim 5-4 edge. The teams have split the last four meetings. FIU's last road game outside the state of Florida was in San Antonio, two seasons ago. The Roadrunners won in the last meeting between the two, 69-55 in San Antonio.
 
FIU enters the game at 6-18 overall, 3-8 in conference. UTSA is 5-19 on the season, 3-9 in C-USA. The Panthers have lost six in a row, while UTSA has split its last four games.
 
The Panthers narrowly lost by four points to Middle Tennessee at home last Saturday afternoon. FIU outshot by hitting a .458 mark at home, but MT nailed 10 threes in the game to get the road win. Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) led the Panthers with 17 points and seven assists, while freshman Callie Cavanaugh (Holyoke, Massachusetts) added 11 and six rebounds.
 
Five Roadrunners got into double figures at Charlotte, but the 49ers defended the home floor in an 88-75 win. Charlotte led by seven at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Marie Benson had 19 points and eight rebounds, while Tija Hawkins added 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Panthers will play their last home game of the season Saturday, facing rival Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m. FIU will honor senior graduate students Kiandre'a Pound (Gifford, Florida / Sebastian River HS) and Quira Demery (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) will part of a pregame ceremony to celebrate their contributions to the program.
