MIAMI (Feb. 9, 2018) –  The FIU women's tennis team hits the road to take on North Florida on Saturday, Feb.10. First serve is set for 11 a.m.  
 
The Panthers are coming into this weekend's match with a Top-10 tandem in the nation. The doubles tandem of junior Maryna Veksler and sophomore Ulyana Grib moved up six spots to No. 9 in the latest Oracle/ITA National Doubles Rankings on Wednesday. This marks the highest ranking in school history for an FIU doubles tandem.
 
Senior Andrea Lazaro still holds the No. 3 position in the Oracle/ITA National Singles Rankings.
 
 The Panthers are coming into Saturday's match with a 3-1 record after a recent 4-2 win against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday. The Ospreys have a 4-1 record this season and lost their only match 4-0 against UCF last week.
 
"We have been working hard the past two weeks, having great consistency," FIU head coach Katarina Petrovic said. "Every day we are feeling more confident in our game but all of that comes with the right working ethics."
 
Lazaro has won two-straight singles matches and is 15-4 in singles play this year. Nerma Caluk clinched for the first time in the season against Florida Gulf Coast and has a record of 7-3 in singles play. Freshman Sandra Bozinovic has a 3-1 record in singles play and helped the Panthers to wins twice this season.
 
In doubles play, FIU won three out of four points this season and are led by the duo of Grib and Veksler, who own a 10-3 mark.
