MIAMI (March 2, 2018) – The FIU men's basketball team closes out its 2017-18 regular season on March 3, when the Panthers travel to Norfolk, Virginia, to face Old Dominion. Tipoff at the Ted Constant Convocation Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen on CUSA.tv with Ted Alexander and Dave Twardzik calling the action. The Panthers are coming off an 89-83 win over Charlotte on Thursday night, which was FIU's third-straight victory, equaling its season high.

Brian Beard, Jr., comes into the Old Dominion game as FIU's new single-season steals leader after logging four more thefts on Thursday against Charlotte. Beard, Jr. now has 88 on the year surpassing Carlos Morban's mark set during the 2001-02 campaign.
Eric Lockett led four players in double figures in the scoring column, on Thursday night at Charlotte, with his 24 points. Beard, Jr. also netted better than 20 points, tallying 23, while
Trejon Jacob and
Michael Douglas added 17 and 10 points, respectively in the win.
Jay Harvey led the Panthers on the glass with a game- and career-high nine rebounds.
Beard, Jr. leads the Panthers in scoring, averaging 16.2 points-per-game. He leads four players in double figures in the scoring column for FIU, along with
Trejon Jacob (14.8 ppg) and
Eric Lockett (14.2 ppg) who are second and third, respectively.
Josh Stamps is averaging just below double-digits with 9.8 points-per-game.
Beard, Jr. is still among the nation's leaders in steals-per-game, averaging 3.03 per-outing, which is good enough for second in the nation (through March 1).
