MIAMI (March 28, 2018) – The No. 37-ranked FIU women's tennis team (10-1) travels to Orlando to face No. 21 UCF (14-2) on Friday, March 30.
The match is free to the public with first serve is set for 5 p.m.
FIU has won nine-straight matches and are coming off a 4-0 win over UTEP on Monday, March 19. The shutout was the fourth of the season for FIU.
The Knights come into Friday's match with a 14-2 record and are coming off a 7-0 win over Brown on Tuesday, March 27. The last meeting between FIU and UCF resulted in a 4-0 win for the Panthers on April 1, 2017.
FIU is led by
Andrea Lazaro who comes into this weekend's action with a team-best 20 wins in singles.
Ulyana Grib follows with a 14-4 record. Joining Grib and Lazaro are
Nerma Caluk (11-3) and
Maryna Veksler (13-6). Lazaro is currently ranked No. 4 in the latest Oracle/ITA women's national singles rankings. Grib and Veksler are ranked at No. 14 in the latest Oracle/ITA women's national doubles rankings and boast an overall record of 12-4. The duo of Lazaro and Caluk are undefeated in dual matches and have a 11-0 record.
