MIAMI (Apr.11, 2018) – Holding a 12-2 record, the FIU women's tennis team hosts USF
Friday at the FIU Tennis Courts.
First serve is set for
1 p.m., and admission is free to the public.
The Panthers, at No. 40 in the latest Oracle/ITA Women's Tennis Ranking, are coming off two straight wins against Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky and have a 5-0 record at home in 2018.
The Bulls come into
Wednesday's match with a 11-9 record, after losing their last two matches against Rice and UCF. The two schools met last time in 2017, where the Panthers won 6-1.
In the previous match, senior
Andrea Lazaro and sophomore
UlyanaGrib recorded their 22nd and 15th wins on the season in singles, respectively. Senior
Nerma Caluk and junior
Maryna Veksler both have 13 wins overall.
Lazaro is currently ranked at No. 7 in the Oracle/ITA individual rankings and Grib and Veksler hold the No. 23 position in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings with a 14-5 mark overall. Lazaro and Caluk are undefeated and have a record of 13-0.
