MIAMI (Aug. 24, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team returns to action at home on Sunday, as the Panthers host the Denver Pioneers at noon.
The Panthers will be seeking their first win of the season, after dropping the first two contests of the year to Stetson and Miami.

DENVER PREVIEW
The Jeff Hooker coached squad posted an 11-9-1 record last season, as the Pioneers earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament. So far this season, Denver is off to an 0-2-1 start after dropping matches to Colorado College and Florida Atlantic, while earning a 1-1 draw with Colorado State to open the season
INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU trails the all-time series against Denver, 5-8-2. The Panthers have won the last two meetings in the series however, taking both contests against the Pioneers in 2011. Overall, FIU has won the last two meetings at home as well, having not lost to Denver in Miami since 2007.

Torrie Taylor earned their first career starts against Miami last time out, with both making an impact to combine for two shots.

The FIU women's soccer program enters year two in the
Sharolta Nonen era, after she became just the team's third head coach in school history in 2017.
NEW YEAR, NEW US
There will be many fresh faces in 2018 for FIU women's soccer, with a total of 17 newcomers to the roster this fall. Of that total, 13 are true freshmen and four are transfers.
