MIAMI (Aug. 30, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team hits the road for a pair of matches in Charleston this weekend, as the Panthers seek their first win of the season.
FIU will face Charleston Southern on Friday, at 4 p.m. ET, before closing out the weekend against College of Charleston on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

CHARLESTON SOUTHERN PREVIEW
CSU posted a 5-11-2 record last season, while going 3-5-1 in conference action. The Buccaneers are off to a 1-0-1 start this season, posting a 1-0 win over at Wofford and earning a 1-1 draw against Mercer last time out.
COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON PREVIEW
The Cougars turned in an 8-9-1 record last season, while going, 3-5-1 in league play. College of Charleston has posted a 2-2 record this season, with wins over North Florida (2-0) and Coastal Carolina (1-0), while dropping a couple of tough matches against No. 5 South Carolina (2-0) and Wake Forest (3-2)
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Panthers and Buccaneers have only met twice, with the two teams splitting the contests. FIU holds a 4-2-0 advantage over the Cougars however, with the last match against College of Charleston coming in 2005.

The FIU women's soccer program enters year two in the
Sharolta Nonen era, after she became just the team's third head coach in school history in 2017.
NEW YEAR, NEW US
There will be many fresh faces in 2018 for FIU women's soccer, with a total of 17 newcomers to the roster this fall. Of that total, 13 are true freshmen and four are transfers.
