No. 11 Florida topped FIU 3-0 Friday night at the Gator Invitational at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville.
The Gators won the match by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-7. Florida is now 8-3 while FIU is at 6-5.
Margherita Bianchin had four kills to pace the Panthers.
Ronja Klinger and
Nina Petranovic each added three kills.
Abbie Hughes led FIU with nine assists. The freshman also had six digs.
Lina Bernier had a team-high nine digs for the Panthers.
Bianchin, Hughes and
Dorina Klinger each had two blocks for FIU.
FIU wraps up the Gator Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers take on Jacksonville at 4 p.m. from the O'Connell Center in Gainesville.
After the Gator Invitational, FIU returns home to start Conference USA play against UAB next Friday night.
