Wofford edged FIU 3-2 in a five-set battle Friday night at the UCF Challenge at The Venue in Orlando.
The Terriers are now 5-4 on the season while the Panthers are 5-3.
After Wofford won the first set 25-17, FIU rallied to win sets two and three by the scores of 25-16, 25-20, respectively.
The Terriers and Panthers had to go extra points in set four before Wofford won 35-33. The Terriers won the decisive set 15-11.
Margherita Bianchin and
Abbie Hughes fueled FIU by recording double-doubles.
Bianchin led all players with 22 kills and had 16 digs. Hughes had a match-high 52 assists and added 12 digs.
Nina Petranovic had 18 kills and
Sidney Henderson had 10 kills for the Panthers.
Lina Bernier led the Panthers with 26 digs.
Ronja Klinger was also in double figures in digs for FIU with 11.

Dorina Klinger had six blocks.
In set two the Panthers went on a 12-3 run to take control and win that set. FIU used an 11-3 run to take set three.
FIU withstood nine set points by Wofford in the fourth set before the Terriers took the final three points of the set.
FIU concludes the UCF Challenge Saturday at 12 p.m. when the Panthers take on the University of Illinois-Chicago.
