MIAMI (Oct. 12, 2019) - The No. 15 ranked FIU men's soccer team travels north for a crucial C-USA showdown, as the Panthers face No. 16 Kentucky in Lexington on Sunday night.
The undefeated Panthers are scheduled for a 6 p.m. ET kickoff against the Wildcats.

KENTUCKY PREVIEW
Kentucky has posted a 6-1-3 record thus far in the 2019 campaign, including a 5-0-1 record at home. The Wildcats are coming off their fifth consecutive shutout and recently posted a 0-0 draw against No. 4 Indiana this past Wednesday. Kentucky is currently fourth in the C-USA standings with four points, holding a 1-0-1 record. The Wildcats earned a 1-1 draw against No. 5 Charlotte earlier this season, and defeated FAU by a score of 3-0 at home. Kentucky lost in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament last season, and finished 2018 ranked at No. 3 overall in the nation after posting a 19-2-1 overall record.
INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU trails Kentucky in the all-time series, as the Panthers have posted a 5-7-1 record against the Wildcats. Last time FIU faced the Wildcats in Lexington, Kentucky was on Oct. 29, 2017, with that match resulting in a 2-2 draw for the Panthers. FIU has won three out of the last four matches against Kentucky, but has posted a 2-4-1 all-time record in Lexington.

FIU enters the week tied for second overall in the country in total assists (34). The Panthers are also third overall in points (100), goals (33), points-per-game (9.09), goals-per-game (3), and assists-per-game (3.09).

FIU ranks first in several C-USA offensive categories this season, including shots (158), points, goals, goals-per-game, assists, and assists-per-game. Alessandro Campoy currently leads C-USA with 29 shots and ranks second in shots-per-game (2.90). Caleb Franke and Campoy are tied for third in C-USA with five goals each. Goalkeeper Daniel Gagliardi ranks second in C-USA with 39 saves and a 0.780 save percentage.

FIU has seen productive play throughout the roster to fuel an 8-0-3 start to the 2019 campaign. 16 different Panthers have logged either a goal or an assist this season. 12 Panthers have logged a goal thus far in 2019, while 14 players have contributed an assist. An impressive total of 10 Panthers have logged both a goal and an assist. Those players include returning veterans Campoy, Inigo Sagarduy, Andrew Booth, Matias Barraza, Owen Green, Xavi Olmos Ferris, and newcomers Stephen Afrifa, Alban Rousselet, David Garcia, and Ronaldo Marshall.
