MIAMI (Oct. 16, 2019) - On the heels of a two-game win streak, the FIU football team returns home as the Panthers host the UTEP Miners on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Kickoff between the Panthers and Miners is slated for 7:05 p.m. ET, with the game set to air on ESPN+. For complete game notes, click here

SCOUTING THE MINERS
UTEP enters the game with a 1-4 record and 0-2 mark in conference play. The Miners' lone win came in the season opener against Houston Baptist. Since then, UTEP has dropped contests against Texas Tech (38-3), Nevada (37-21), Southern Miss (31-13) and UTSA (26-16).

UTEP ranks in the bottom half for most defensive categories, ranking 13th in the league for total defense (425.0). The Miners are 11th overall for rush defense (190.8) and ninth for pass defense (234.2). Last time out, UTSA finished with 320 yards rushing against the Miner defense.

Treyvon Hughes has rushed for five touchdowns and 314 yards this season to lead UTEP. Hughes' 62.8 yards per game average ranks 10th in the league.

PANTHERS RUSH PAST 49ERS
FIU had one of its best days rushing the ball against Charlotte on Oct. 12, as the Panthers gained 350 yards on the ground against the 49ers. The 350 yards rushing is the fourth-most in a game for the Panthers. Three of the top five rushing games have come under Butch Davis..

TWO BACKS OVER 100
Anthony Jones and Napoleon Maxwell each finished over the century mark for rushing against Charlotte on Oct. 12. It marked just the seventh game in school history that FIU had at least two running backs over the century mark in the same game.

SECURE THE BAG
The Panthers have done a great job at not turning the ball over this season, with FIU ranking first in the C-USA and 9th in the nation. So far this season, FIU has only given the ball away five times.

JONES HAS CAREER GAME VS. CHARLOTTE
Anthony Jones posted the best performance of his career against Charlotte, as he rushed for 117 yards on the ground and scored four times. Jones rushed for three touchdowns, while catching one as well to round out his day. The four scores for Jones tied FIU's single-game mark for a non-QB and were the most since T.Y. Hilton accomplished the feat in 2010.

JONES EARNS BACK-TO-BACK 100-YARD GAMES
Anthony Jones earned back-to-back 100-yard games on the ground for the first time in his career, after rushing for 115 against UMass and 117 against Charlotte. In FIU's history, there has only been eight running backs with consecutive 100-yard games. Rashod Smith's four in a row in 2004 is the all-time record.

MORGAN NEARING CAREER PASSING MARK
James Morgan has thrown 33 touchdown passes at FIU, ranking as the fourth-most in school history. Morgan needs one more to tie Paul McCall's mark of 34 set in 2005-09.
