MIAMI (Oct. 17, 2019) - The FIU volleyball team caps its longest homestand of the season on Friday night, as the Panthers welcome UTEP to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
The Panthers face the Miners at 7 p.m. ET.
FIU enters the match with a 9-8 record overall and 2-3 mark in C-USA play. UTEP visits Miami with an 8-10 record and 1-4 mark in league action.
FIU OUTLOOK
Entering Friday's match,
Abbie Hughes ranks fourth in the league for assists after earning 593 on the year. The setter posted a career-high 64 against Charlotte last Friday, which is the most for any Panther since FIU joined the C-USA.
SCOUTING UTEP
The Miners snapped a five-match losing streak last time out, as UTEP swept Louisiana Tech at home last Sunday. Serena Patterson leads the Miners this season, compiling 173 kills on the year. Cheyenne Jones is not far off with 171 kills on the season.

FIU hits the road this Sunday as the Panthers travel to UAB for a 2 p.m. ET matchup to kickoff a three-match road swing. FIU returns home on Friday, Nov. 1 to host North Texas at 7 p.m. ET.
