MIAMI (Oct. 21, 2019) – In this FIU Athletics weekly recap, the FIU football team won its third-straight game to highlight the week for the Panthers. 

Below is a brief recap of how each FIU team performed this past week. 

Women's Golf
FIU won its first tournament of the season last time out, as the Panthers were victorious at the Jupiter Women's Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida. Agueda Cortilla carded a career-low 66 during Monday's first round and a 73 on Tuesday to win the tournament on the individual side, while also claiming C-USA Golfer of the Week honors. The Panthers host the 42nd annual Pat Bradley Invitational this week, with the final day wrapping up on Tuesday. 

Volleyball
Volleyball dropped three matches this past week, after facing a tough slate of foes. The Panthers continue their road trek this weekend as FIU travels to Louisiana Tech and Rice, before coming back home on Friday, Nov. 1 to host North Texas. 

Women's Soccer
Women's soccer fell to Middle Tennessee this past Thursday, as the Panthers dropped a 3-1 decision on the road. The Panthers return home for a pair of games this weekend, as FIU hosts North Texas and UTSA on Friday and Sunday. 

Women's Tennis
FIU had three Panthers compete at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Tallahassee this past weekend. FIU's Kamila Umarova earned a pair of singles victories, with her win over No. 80 Daevenia Achong of Miami highlighting the weekend. 

Men's Soccer
After No. 12 FIU's ranked win over Kentucky, the Panthers earned a scoreless draw against No. 10 Charlotte to stay undefeated on the year. FIU travels to USF on Tuesday night to face the Bulls to continue their stellar season. 

Football
FIU downed UTEP on Saturday night 32-17 as the Panthers pushed their win streak to three games. FIU was led by Anthony Jones, who rushed over 100 yards for the third-straight game to become just the second Panther to ever achieve the feat. FIU hits the road this week as the Panthers travel to Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 ET.
