MIAMI (Oct. 3, 2019) - The FIU swim and dive team returns home this weekend, as the Panthers host the TYR Fall Classic at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center on Oct. 4-5. 

FIU welcomes eight teams to the pool this weekend, three of which are Power 5 programs. LSU, TCU, FAU, Army, Pitt, GW, Grand Canyon and Keiser will all make the trip to Biscayne Bay to participate in the annual TYR Fall Classic. 

"The TYR Classic has grown in the three years that we have hosted the event. The addition on LSU and Pitt to the field along with everyone else returning will be a great competitive field. We are ready to get back at it this week and keep working towards our goals," said Head Coach Randy Horner. 

The Panthers are coming off of a great opening weekend, which included a win over Miami. Additionally, the Panthers swept the weekly conference honors as Maha Gouda was named C-USA Diver of the Week and freshman Lamija Medosevic was named C-USA Swimmer of the Week.

MEET SCHEDULE AND FORMAT
Each team will be represented by nine swimmers and two divers. Two heats of each event will take place and will be scored separately.

UP NEXT
Following the TYR Classic this weekend, the Panthers will host the Blue & Gold Alumni Intrasquad Meet on Saturday, Oct. 12, before welcoming four squads to Biscayne Bay for Dual-A-Pool-Ooza on Oct. 18-19.
