MIAMI - FIU diver
Dhavgely Mendoza was named the American Conference Diver of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Mendoza wins the first weekly award of the year after securing a NCAA Zone Cut on 3-meter at the TYR Fall Classic this past Oct. 2 – Oct. 3 as FIU finished in second place with an score of 1,060.5 points. Her overall score of 283.35 on third-meter pushed to her FIU's first Zone Cut of the season and took first in the B-Final.
In addition, the Barquisimeto, Venezuela native also finished second in the 1-meter (246.35).

FIU prepares for the Dual-A-Pool-Ooza on Friday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. from University of Miami and Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. and at 3 p.m. at the Doral Aquatic Center. Liberty, Miami, Vanderbilt will compete alongside FIU in the competition.
