MIAMI (Oct. 6, 2019) - The FIU volleyball team earned its first Conference USA victory of the season on Sunday, as the Panthers took down visiting Florida Atlantic in five sets.
The Panthers won the first two sets, before taking the final deciding set on Sunday. The score stood at 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 15-12 in favor of the Panthers.
With the win, FIU improves to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in C-USA play. FAU falls to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in league action.
FIU had three players in double digits for kills, with
Fiorella Murillo (16),
Chelsea Hudson (10) and
Sidney Henderson (10) leading the way.
Abbie Hughes earned her seventh double-double of the season after earning 40 assists and 19 digs on the day.

FIU continues its homestand with Charlotte (Oct. 11), WKU (Oct. 13), Florida Gulf Coast (Oct. 16) and UTEP (Oct. 18) all visiting the Ocean Bank Convocation Center following the match against FAU.
