MIAMI (Oct. 9, 2019) - After a dominating performance at the TYR Fall Classic this past weekend, sophomore
Maha Gouda was named Conference USA Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The laurel marks the second-straight week that Gouda has earned the weekly honor. It also marks the sixth time the Egypt native has earned a weekly recognition from the conference over her short career at FIU.
From the 1-meter, Gouda won the A final of the event with a score of 266.45, before snagging third place in the B final of the 3-meter with a score of 254.50.
As a team, the Panthers finished runner-up at the weekend event with 449 points and placed ahead of two Power 5 schools in Pittsburgh and TCU.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will host the Blue & Gold Alumni Intrasquad Meet on Saturday, Oct. 12, before welcoming four squads to Biscayne Bay for Dual-A-Pool-Ooza on Oct. 18-19.
