MIAMI (Nov. 7, 2019) – The FIU volleyball team faces Marshall during the Panthers' final home match of the season on Friday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. The senior class is set to be honored prior to first serve.
FIU looks to snap an eight-match skid on Senior Day. The Panthers' last victory came on Oct. 11 when the team defeated Charlotte in a five-set thriller. Chelsea Hudson leads the squad with a .407 hitting percentage, which ranks 19th nationally. Lina Bernier comes in with 5.22 digs per set, also putting the libero 19th in the nation.
SCOUTING THE THUNDERING HERD
Marshall comes to Miami with a 15-9 record and a 6-5 mark in Conference USA action. The Thundering Herd have won their last three matches, sweeping UTSA, Louisiana Tech and Charlotte. Offensively, Ciara Debell leads Marshall with a 4.11 kills per set average. Amber Weber posts 4.94 digs per set to pace the Herd defensively.
UP NEXT
The Panthers close out the regular season with matches at Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee. FIU takes on the Golden Eagles Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. ET, before facing the Blue Raiders on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. ET.
