MIAMI (Dec. 19, 2019) – The FIU men's basketball team welcomed Florida Memorial to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Thursday. The Panthers topped the Lions 99-74 to remain undefeated at home this season.
FIU moved to 8-3 with the victory, and the Panthers are 5-0 on their home court this season.
In the opening half, the Panthers shot 45% from the field and held FMU to 35.3% shooting, helping the team to a 47-36 advantage when the squads went to the locker room. Trejon Jacob led FIU in the opening stanza with the senior posting 13 points, two blocks and two steals.
Coming out of the break, the Panthers remained in control, going 18-35 overall in the second half to close out the 99-74 victory over the Lions. Eric Lovett recorded a season-best 21 points, and Antonio Daye, Jr. followed the guard with 20 points. Osasumwen Osaghae logged a squad-best five blocks in the contest while Jacob tallied eight rebounds for FIU.

ALUMNI GAME
The FIU men's basketball program welcomes back its alumni to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Saturday, Jan. 18, for the Panthers' game against Middle Tennessee. Tipoff from the Conference USA clash is set for 7 p.m. ET. The 2019-2020 campaign marks the 25th anniversary of the banner season, which resulted in the program's first NCAA appearance.
