MIAMI (Feb. 10, 2019) - The FIU women's tennis team battled against No. 20 Texas Tech on Sunday morning, falling to the Raiders, 4-0, at home. 

The morning opened up with doubles play, the freshman-duo of Kamila Umarova and Basak Akbas, battled hard against the Raiders', Nell Miller and Felicity Maltby but fell 6-2. The rookie pair in MariiaSolnyshkina and Paulina Bakaite dropped the match 6-2 against Kennedy Bridgforthand Lana Rush. The Panther pair of sophomore Sandra Bozinovic and Junior Maria Turrillo lead the third match 5-4 but it remained unfinished and TTU took the doubles point. 

In singles action Umarovafinished first falling to Maltby, 6-1,6-1. Solynshkina dropped her match against TTU's Lana Rush, 6-2, 6-1. The day ended when Texas Tech secured the fourth win over Bakaite, 6-3, 6-0.
