ATLANTA, GEORGIA (Feb. 26, 2019) – Senior
Oceane Peretti was named to the Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic team; announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The honor is well deserved," said head coach
Randy Horner. "Oceane is the text book example of what an NCAA student-athlete is meant to be. She is a top student with an amazing work ethic, which carries into her swimming."
Peretti (Hyeres, France) maintains a 3.76 GPA as a Computer Science major in accordance with her success in the pool. Over the summer the 6'2 swimmer competed in the 42nd Annual Swim Around Key West where she posted a historic time of 4:05.36 in the 12.5-mile.
She picked up a lifetime best score (5:07.19) in the 500 Freestyle against Florida Atlantic on Feb.2. Peretti posted three additional top five finishes; placing third in the 1000 free (10:42.23) vs. FGCU, fifth in the 1000 free against Miami (10:57.58) and third in the 1000 Free (10:49.83) In a tri-meet with FGCU and North Florida.
The six-member 2019 In-Touch Credit Union Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic is voted on by the league's Academic Advisors. In order to qualify for nomination to the team, student-athletes must have achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and serve as a key competitor of their respective team.
