MIAMI (May 22, 2019) – Kicking off our Q&A series with FIU football is defensive end
Noah Curtis. The Panther is coming off a C-USA Honorable Mention season where he ranked first among FIU defensive linemen in total tackles.
A native of Delray Beach, Curtis has appeared in 24 games in two seasons with FIU. The big man had a career-high seven tackles against rival Florida Atlantic on Nov. 3 of last season to add to his breakout year. Curtis is now training for 2019 and preparing to take his game to even new heights, the rising junior took time out of his busy schedule to sit down with FIUSports.com for a little back-and-forth Q&A.
Q: What's it like playing for Coach Butch Davis?
A: "It's an honor playing for Coach Davis, I'm glad to be a part of this program. I still can't believe to this day that I play for Coach Davis."
Q: What was your favorite moment from last season?
A: "When we won the Bahamas Bowl trophy and set the school record for wins."
Q: What did it mean to be on the C-USA Honorable Mention team?
A: "To make it as a true sophomore means a lot. It shows that other teams respect my game on the field. There's no where but up from here."
Q: What things do you need to do this offseason for the team to be better?
A: "I need to get stronger and be more vocal as a leader."
Q: What are some of your goals for 2019?
A: "My team goals include to go undefeated this season and make it to a January bowl game. My personal goals are to be the best me on and off the field, be an Academic All-American and become more active in my community."
Q: Describe Miami to a person who has never been.
A: "Miami is a great city to explore and have a great time with your family and friends."
Q: Describe your fashion style?
A: "I like to look professional on and off the field."
Q: What would your rap name be?
A: "Bigtime Showtime."
Q: What is your favorite meme?
A: "Any SpongeBob meme."

Entering its 18th year of football in 2019, the FIU Panthers are coming off a program-best nine wins a season ago. FIU capped 2018 with a 35-32 victory over Toledo in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl to finish the season 9-4 overall. Under legendary head coach
Butch Davis, the Panthers have earned back-to-back bowl appearances and 17 wins in the last two years.
