Panther Q&A: Austin Maloney

Five Qs with FIU's explosive wideout

MIAMI (May 29, 2019) – Next up in our Q&A series with FIU football is wide receiver Austin Maloney. The Panther is coming off one of his best seasons at FIU, after earning a spot on the Conference USA Honorable Mention Team as a wideout and for his efforts in the return game.

A Miami native, Maloney has appeared in 38 games in three seasons with FIU. The wideout hauled in 610 yards on 30 catches and five scores last season, making Maloney FIU's top returning receiver for 2019.  Maloney is now preparing for his senior season at FIU, as he took time to sit down with FIUSports.com for a little back-and-forth Q&A.

Q: What's it like playing for Coach Butch Davis?
A: "Coach Davis is an amazing coach and an even better person. Every time you step on that field you want to give it your all for the man."

Q: What was your favorite moment from last season?
A: "Favorite moment was rushing the field with my brothers after the win over Toledo in the Bahamas Bowl."

Q: What do you need to do this offseason for the team to be better?

Q: What goals do you have after FIU?
A: "Pursue my dreams playing on the next level."
