6/19/2019 3:00:00 PM

MIAMI (June 19, 2019) – Next up in our Q&A series with FIU football is Tony Gaiter IV. The Panther capped his junior season off with a career-best performance in the Bahamas Bowl to help FIU down Toledo, 35-32.

A native of Richmond Heights, Florida, Gaiter has become a reliable receiver in the FIU offense and looks to be a steady target for James Morgan in the fall. Gaiter played in 13 games last season, making five starts at wideout. The receiver hauled in 24 catches for 227 yards, while finding the end zone twice on the year. The receiver is now preparing for his senior season at FIU, as he took time to sit down with FIUSports.com for a little back-and-forth Q&A.

Q: What's it like playing for Coach Butch Davis?
A: "He's a coach that knows what it takes to win and makes sure we are prepared for any situation we may face."

Q: What was your favorite moment from last season?
A: "My favorite moment of last year was catching the fourth down conversion in the Bahamas bowl."

Q: What small thing do you need to do this offseason for the team to be better?
A: "Lead by example. Go hard every day and make sure they see I'm all in and they will follow."

Q: What's your goals for 2019?
A: "My goals for this year are to play every play as if it were my last, control what I can control and help this team win the conference championship."

Q: Who is the toughest DB to beat in practice?
A: "I think the toughest DB I face in practice is Richard Dames. He's smart and patient and I know I'm getting better when I face him ."

Q: Describe Miami to a person who has never been.
A: "Miami is full of sunshine and football."

Q: Describe your fashion style
A: "My fashion style is light but tight. I'm never doing too much, but I look good."

Q: What would your rap name be?
A: "My rap name would be Tony G."
