MIAMI (Aug. 29, 2019) – The FIU men's soccer team opens the 2019 season at home tomorrow, as the Panthers host St. Bonaventure at FIU Soccer Stadium on Friday, before taking on James Madison on Saturday.
The Panthers and Bonnies are set to face off at 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday, with Saturday's contest against the Dukes scheduled for 7 p.m. as well. The game against James Madison was orginally set for Sunday, but inclement weather moved up the game.

ST. BONAVENTURE PREVIEW
The Bonnies finished last season 7-9-1 overall, earning a 3-6 mark on the road.
JAMES MADISON PREVIEW
The Dukes finished last season 15-5-3 overall, earning a 6-3-2 mark on the road.
INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU leads the series over James Madison 4-0-1, with their last meeting resulting in a 1-1 draw, after a double OT battle on the road in 2017. The Panthers took the last meeting over the Bonnies after a 4-1 victory at home on Sep. 28, 2003.
BOOTH EARNS RECOGNITION
Senior defender Andrew Booth was selected to the Conference USA Preseason Team as voted on by the league's eight head coaches. Booth was an iron man for the Panthers in 2018, as he started 16 games while logging the second-most minutes on the team (1,477). In a September road victory over North Florida, Booth had a game-high five points and earned C-USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the match. The Tamarac, Florida native finished first on the team in total assists (4), while finishing third in total points (8), goals (2), shots (23), and shots-on-goal (9). Booth was awarded C-USA Second Team honors last season following his stellar junior campaign in 2018.
PANTHER NEWCOMERS
The FIU men's soccer team will feature eight talented newcomers, with seven being true freshmen and one joining as a senior transfer. The 2019 class features four international recruits, two local South Florida products, and two out-of-state recruits.
