MIAMI (Sept. 11, 2019) – The NFL slate kicked off this last weekend, with former Panthers continuing to represent FIU in the professional ranks. 
 
FIU currently has four former Panthers in the NFL, headlined by former standouts T.Y. Hilton and Jonnu Smith being joined by Alex McGough and Johnathan Cyprien in the start of the 2019 season.
 
T.Y. Hilton (FIU - 2009-11)
Week 2 Schedule: Colts at Titans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
Former Panther great T.Y. Hilton started his eighth season in the league on the right foot with eight catches for 87 yards and two trips to the end zone as the Colts fell 30-24 to the Chargers.

Johnathan Cyprien (FIU - 2009-12)
Week 2 Schedule: Eagles at Falcons (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET)
After a knee injury kept Johnathan Cyprien off the field in 2018, Cyprien made his Eagles debut without recording any stats in Philadelphia's 32-27 win over the Redskins.
 
Jonnu Smith (FIU - 2013-16)
Week 2 Schedule: Colts at Titans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
Another former Panther coming back from an season-ending injury in 2018, Jonnu Smith caught one pass for seven yards in the Titans 43-13 thrashing of the Browns.

Alex McGough (FIU - 2014-17)
Week 2 Schedule: Jaguars at Texans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
After signing with the Texans' practice squad following the final roster cuts, McGough was promoted to Houston's active roster on Tuesday. The Texans dropped their season opener in heartbreaking fashion 30-28 to the Saints on Monday Night Football.
