INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU and Appalachian State will meet for the first time in school history this Friday. Both programs have participated in the Sun Belt Conference, with the Mountaineers joining in 2014 and currently members of the conference. FIU moved from Sun Belt to C-USA following the 2012 campaign and narrowly missed the Mountaineers as conference foes. This Sunday's match in Spartanburg will also mark the first program meeting for USC Upstate and FIU.
BERRY BREAK OUT
Sophomore
Rayquel Berry has started the 2019 campaign hot, as she scored two goals in FIU's big win over Jacksonville University during the second week of the season. The dynamic forward is leading the squad with four points this season, while also leading the team in shots (11) and shots-on-goal (5).
NEWCOMERS MAKING IMPACT
Three first-year Panthers are making their presence felt for FIU early in the 2019 campaign. Freshman

Halseth notched a goal and an assist for a three-point effort in FIU's win over Jacksonville, while Albalat Collado contributed two assists against the Dolphins, before adding another against North Florida on Sep. 6. Junior transfer
Laura Chavez has also contributed a goal for FIU, scoring her first as a Panther in the match against North Florida. Aside from Berry, the three newcomers are responsible for all of FIU's points this season.
