MIAMI (Sept. 4, 2019) – After the conclusion of preseason, the NFL made its final roster cuts prior to the 2019 regular season as four Panthers earned spots on their respective teams.
 
FIU currently has four former Panthers in the NFL, headlined by former standouts T.Y. Hilton and Jonnu Smith being joined by Alex McGough and Johnathan Cyprien in the start of the 2019 season.
 
T.Y. Hilton (FIU - 2009-11)
Week 1 Schedule: Colts at Chargers (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET)
Former Panther great T.Y. Hilton rested up during the preseason, as he's poised to have a big year in 2019. 

Johnathan Cyprien (FIU - 2009-12)
Week 1 Schedule: Redskins at Eagles (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
After being released by the Tennessee Titans in March, Johnathan Cyprien signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Cyprien has collected eight tackles and deflected one pass in course of the four preseason games for the Eagles. 
 
Jonnu Smith (FIU - 2013-16)
Week 1 Schedule: Titans at Browns (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
Former Panther Jonnu Smith did not see action this preseason after suffering a knee injury in Week 14 last season.

Alex McGough (FIU - 2014-16)
Week 1 Schedule: Texans at Saints (Monday, 7:10 p.m. ET)
McGough was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final round of cuts before signing with the Houston Texans, who made him one of their most prized pracitce squad players.
