RICE OWLS PREVIEW
The Owls are 8-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Rice has picked up it's last three wins against Marshall (81-43), WKU (73-65) and Florida Atlantic (78-69).
INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU and Rice are tied in the series 5-5. The Panthers and the Owls last faced on Feb. 14, 2019 in Houston, Texas. FIU dropped a 76-44 contest on the road to Rice.
HISTORIC CONFERENCE GAME
FIU picked up its first victory against North Texas since 2013 after earning a 58-56 win. The Panthers also posted a historic first quarter, after holding the Mean Green to the fewest points allowed in a quarter for the program (4).
CHELSEA IN THE STATS
The Almada, Portugal native ranks eighth in C-USA for rebounds per game (7.9) while leading FIU in points per game (10.1), rebounds per game (7.9) and ranking second in blocked shots per game (0.9).
