"I am really excited that the conference has finalized our schedule," Coach Burks-Wiley said. "We have some truly great teams in Conference USA and I'm looking forward to getting FIU back in that conversation."

This season, C-USA will move to a new 18-game regular season format for conference play that focuses on the health and safety of student-athletes. In this format, schools will play two games per visit at four select C-USA schools and host four select teams for a two-game series, while playing a rival opponent one time home and away.

The Panthers will begin the conference campaign on the road at Old Dominion (Dec. 31 & Jan. 2) before returning to Miami for a two-game set with visiting Middle Tennessee (Jan. 7 & Jan. 9). The home-and-home series with FAU is slated to begin on Jan. 14 with a trip up the coast to Boca Raton before the return visit to Miami, occurring on Jan. 16. A trip to Marshall (Jan. 21 & Jan. 23) and a home series with Charlotte (Jan. 28 & Jan. 30) closes out the first month of C-USA play.

February opens with back-to-back weekends against Lone Star State teams as the Panthers head to San Antonio to play UTSA (Feb. 4 & Feb. 6) before returning to Ocean Bank Convocation Center for a two-game set against UTEP (Feb. 11 & Feb. 13). To close out the conference slate, FIU will travel to Southern Miss (Feb. 18 & Feb. 20) before ending the season at home against WKU (Feb. 25 and Feb. 27) with Senior Day scheduled for Feb. 27.

The 2021 C-USA Basketball Championships will take place March 10-13, hosted by the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

FIU enters its first season in the Burks-Wiley era, as she becomes the eighth coach in the program's history. Burks-Wiley joins the Panthers after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the South Florida Bulls. FIU will be the sixth coaching stop for Burks-Wiley, as the former professional forward has spent time at Nebraska-Omaha (2012-13), UMass-Lowell (2013-14), Brown (2014-16), Boston College (2016-17) and USF (2017-20).
