MIAMI (Oct. 6, 2020) – With four weeks into the NFL season, FIU's former Panthers continue to impress on the national stage for their respective teams. 

FIU currently has seven former Panthers in the NFL, with former standouts T.Y. Hilton and Jonnu Smith headlining as FIU's top NFL representatives. The pair is joined by new arrivals James Morgan, Stantley Thomas-Oliver III and Teair Tart, who began their pro careers this past offseason. 
 
T.Y. Hilton (FIU - 2009-11)
Week 5 Schedule: Colts at Browns (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)
Former Panther great T.Y. Hilton, now in this ninth season, brought down three catches for 29 yards as the Colts tamed the Bears, 19-11.

Johnathan Cyprien (FIU - 2009-12)
Week 5 Schedule: Dolphins at 49ers (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)
Johnathan Cyprien signed with the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers prior to the regular season. The safety was active but did not record any stats as the Niners fell, 25-20, to the Eagles.

Jonnu Smith (FIU - 2013-16)
Week 5 Schedule: Bills at Titans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
The Titans were on a bye this past weekend. In three games so far this season, Jonnu Smith ranks second among all Titans receivers with 181 receiving yards on 13 catches and three touchdowns. 
 
Alex McGough (FIU - 2014-17)
Week 5 Schedule: Jaguars at Texans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
After not making the final roster cut, the Houston Texans signed Alex McGough to the practice squad. The Texans fourth-quarter comeback fell just short as the Vikings prevailed 31-23.
 
Stantley Thomas-Oliver III (FIU - 2016-19)
Week 5 Schedule: Panthers at Falcons (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
Stantley Thomas-Oliver III, who was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, was inactive for the Panthers' 31-21 victory over the Cardinals.
 
James Morgan (FIU - 2018-19)
Week 4 Schedule: Cardinals at Jets (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
James Morgan, who was selected by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, was inactive on Thursday. The Jets fell to the Denver Broncos by a score of 37-28.

Teair Tart (FIU - 2018-19)
Week 5 Schedule: Bills at Titans (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET)
Teair Tart signed with the Tennessee Titans following the 2020 NFL Draft, earning a spot on the practice squad. The Titans were on a bye this past weekend.
