The transfer QB had one touchdown pass, a 28-yard connection with JJ Holloman, and an interception. D'vonte Price earned 100 yards on the ground, earning his fourth game over the century mark this year.

The Panthers would score on its opening possession Saturday afternoon, as Bortenschlager found Holloman for a 28-yard touchdown pass down the sideline to put FIU up 7-0. WKU scored its first points of the day on a 39-yard field goal early in the second quarter, before Wilson returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards and put FIU up 13-3 following the missed extra point.

Nearing halftime, WKU's Tyrrell Pigrome would score from a yard out to trim the lead to 13-10 at the break. Coming out of the locker room, the Hilltoppers would score off turnovers in back-to-back possessions with touchdowns coming the way of a fumble return and interception to shift the game's momentum for good.
