MIAMI (Nov. 27, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team faced off against Flagler at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday afternoon. The Panthers won 82-75 in the rematch with the Saints.
FIU used a 17-3 run over the last 4:39 of regulation to earn the win. With the victory, FIU improves to 2-0 for the season. Flagler moves to 0-1 with the loss.
The Panthers opened the game shooting just 28.9% from the floor and 13.6% from three.
Radshad Davis led all FIU players with 10 points and five rebounds at the break, with the Panthers and Saints tied at 29-29.
Coming out of the locker room, FIU struggled to find its rhythm, trailing 60-49 with 9:47 remaining in the game. An 11-0 scoring run, capped off by a three from
Jonathan Nunez, pushed the Panthers into the lead at 76-72 with 2:23 remaining. The team closed out the second half by shooting 55.9% from the field and 52.6% from three to come away with the 82-75 win.
FIU shot 41.7% from the field and 31.7% from three in the win. Davis closed out the game with 28 points, including seven makes from beyond the arc and nine rebounds.
Antonio Daye, Jr. tallied 21 points while
Cameron Corcoran and
Dimon Carrigan had nine points apiece.
The Panthers welcome Central Michigan for a game on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Tipoff from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center is set for 7 p.m. ET.
