MIAMI (Feb. 5, 2020) - For the second week in a row, the FIU swim and dive team has swept the weekly C-USA awards announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior
Stephanie Hussey and freshman
Mandy Song are tabbed as C-USA Swimmer of the Week and C-USA Diver of the Week for following the weekend's accomplishments.
The achievements follow a victorious weekend in the pool against FAU on Saturday, Feb.1, the Panthers picked up a 175-103 win over the Owls and improved to 7-3 in dual-meet action as they prepare for the conference championships at the end of the month.
SAME SONG AND DANCE
Song does it again, picking up two first-place finishes against FAU. The rookie diver posted a score of 321.68 from the 1-meter and a score of 332.10 from the 3-meter.
HUSSEY THE HUSTLER
Hussey secured three individual victories against the Owls. In the 200 freestyle event, she swam a time of 1:51.95, giving her the top spot of the event. She tapped first in the 100 butterfly with her time of 56.31 and again in the 400 IM with a time of 2:28.83.
UP NEXT
The divers will hit the road to compete at the South Florida Diving Invitational at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center on Friday, Feb. 7.
