ATHENS, Georgia (March 11, 2020) - FIU swimming and diving's
Maha Gouda capped the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships with another NCAA qualification, winning the platform event on Wednesday evening at the Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Georgia.
The sophomore scored 564.15 points on the platform to qualify for another event at the NCAA Championships. Gouda first punched her ticket in the 3-meter event on Tuesday, after scoring 614.10 points and placing seventh overall.
Gouda made history last season, becoming the youngest All-American in program history as she qualified for the 1-meter event in Austin, Texas.
Rachel Foord finished a few spots shy of qualifying in the platform event, after her score of 483.80.
Mandy Song also dove in the final rounds, but finished 13th overall with 468.00 points. Song already punched her ticket for the NCAA Championships on Monday however, as the freshman won the 1-meter event with a score of 608.45.
UP NEXT
Gouda and Song will return to Athens, Georgia on March 18-21 to compete at the NCAA Championships.
