MIAMI (March 5, 2020) - The FIU softball team opened the weekend with a 5-3 victory, as the Panthers downed visiting Tulsa.
FIU improves to 6-8 on the year after the victory, while Tulsa falls to 11-9. The Blue & Gold will host Ball State on Friday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET to continue play at the Panther Invitational.
Kendahl Dunford pitched 5.0 innings in the circle for her first win of the year, while
Allison Muraskin picked up her first save of the year in relief.
Jocelyn Alonso led the Panthers in the win, going 2-3 with three RBI. The freshman's single to center in the second inning gave FIU the early 5-1 lead.

FIU hit .500 (4-8) with runners on, while holding Tulsa to just .167 (2-12) for the same stat.
